Dr. Sarah George grew up in Monroe, LA. She graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a minor in chemistry. She then completed her doctorate training at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans where she was involved in research, service projects, and many organizations including Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society.
After completing her dental school education, Dr. George completed three years of specialty training in orthodontics at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, widely known as one of the top orthodontic residency programs in the country. At Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. George earned her Certificate in Orthodontics, as well as a Masters of Science in oral biology for her thesis, which was subsequently published in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics.
After residency, Dr. George completed the requirements and examination necessary to become board certified, a distinction held by only 35% of the orthodontists in the United States. She believes strongly that the best patient care can only be achieved while staying committed to lifelong learning. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Southwestern Society of Orthodontics, and a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontists.
While away from the office, she and her husband David, an oral surgeon in the U.S. Navy, enjoy working out, hiking and traveling. Dr. George also enjoys reading.
